HISTORY:  The Lord set FRC on a journey together on April 23, 1895, when nine families and four single people began to meet together for worship.  Then they met in the sanctuary of another congregation for the first four years but, then built the first church building in October of 1899.  God blessed First Reformed and the young body grew to the point that it was evident that it needed a larger church and sanctuary so the lot at the present location was purchased.  A new, wood frame building was constructed and dedicated on May 16, 1912.  By 1950, the congregation had grown to 225 families and, once again, the need for a new and larger facility was recognized.  The wood frame church was razed and the present facility was built.  All the labor came from servants from the congregation who sacrificed their time and efforts for the construction, something that is perhaps unheard of today.  The present facility was dedicated on August 19, 1952.  However, by 1972, FRC had grown to 350 families with 650 communicant members and 340 baptized members.  The Fellowship Hall and kitchen were constructed and dedicated in 1972 and in 1982, an additional campus building was built for youth.  During these 116 years of ministry, First Reformed Church has been led by 20 different pastors.  Originally organized as a congregation of the Reformed Church in America, in 2022 FRC became apart of the Alliance of Reformed Churches.
