First Reformed Church of Sheldon is governed by a board called the Consistory. The Consistory includes nine Elders, nine Deacons and the Senior Pastor. The elected and installed Elders and Deacons, along with the Pastor, represent Jesus Christ to the Congregation through their respective offices. The Pastor serves as the President of the Consistory with other officers elected annually by the 18 members of the Consistory to form the Executive Team. Members of the Consistory also serve on various ministry teams with members of the congregation. Each Consistory member is elected to a three-year term and each year, three Elders and three Deacons are nominated and elected to serve and replace those leaving office after a term expires.
